How does it work?

Profhilo is the first product developed using NAHYCO technology, which is a unique and innovative thermal production process, 100% free of any chemical stabilising agents.

Profhilo is indicated for tissue remodelling and improving skin laxity in the face, neck and decollete. It promotes the restoration of firmness, tone and elasticity of tissues in an authentic way, leading to dynamic multilevel remodelling of the skin's extracellular matrix in terms of elasticity and support, as well as maintaining and promoting the normal vitality of the skin's cells including fibroblasts which synthesise collagen.

So rather than just plumping and filling wrinkles, the slow release of hyaluronic acid by Profhilo stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. This in turn improves skin tone, hydration, and the appearance of fine lines. The result is improved skin quality that lasts on average 6 to 9 months.

How long does it last?

Profhilo treatment is carried out over 2-3 separate appointments, 4 weeks apart to achieve optimum results. However, an additional third appointment can be added in cases of more severe skin laxity. The hydrating effects of Profhilo can be seen within a few days of treatment, giving the skin a luminous, healthy glow. Then, over the next few weeks, collagen and elastin production is stimulated, causing the skin to tighten and wrinkles to reduce.
 
Results last approximately 6-9 months, but can vary between individuals and depends on  degree of correction, age, skin type and lifestyle. A good medical skincare regime will also help to prolong the effects of treatment.

What are the risks?

Profhilo is injected using a technique known as the BAP (Bio Aesthetic Points) technique, which involves only 5 injection points on each side of the face. These 5 points have been specifically chosen to maximise the diffusion of the product through the skin but also to:

  • reduce pain (slow injection technique is used)
  • lower the possibility of bruising or haematoma

Immediately after treatment there may be some redness/tenderness at the injection sites, but this normally subsides within 24 hours.
