Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers can be used to lift and restore volume back into the face, while also plumping out wrinkles and deep lines that occur with age to help restore a fuller and more youthful complexion. They can also be used to improve definition in structural areas such as the cheeks, chin and jawline.
At KW Dental & MediSpa we only use premium dermal filler brands including Teoxane and Vivacy.
How does it work?
Dermal fillers contain a substance known as hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in our skin and helps to keep it plump and hydrated. As we get older, the amount of hyaluronic acid decreases, causing volume loss and lines and wrinkles.
In dermal fillers, hyaluronic acid is carried within a gel and when injected, it creates volume by drawing water to the area, plumping out lines and wrinkles to help rejuvenate the skin.
These hyaluronic acid gels come in a variety of thicknesses, and are selected depending on which area of the face is to be treated.
How long does it last?
Results last between 6-24 months, depending on a variety of factors such as product type, area injected, degree of correction, age, skin type and lifestyle.
What are the risks?
As long as this treatment is carried out by a fully qualified medical professional, it is completely safe! The most common side effects are redness, bruising and swelling. A full consultation will always be carried out prior to treatment and aftercare will be provided with instructions on how to minimise the risk of any side effects. I will also provide you with emergency contact details in the unlikely event of any serious post-treatment problems.
Where can you treat?
PERI-ORAL LINES

Includes nasolabial (nose to mouth) lines, marionette (corner of mouth) lines and upper lip (smokers/barcode) lines, which can all worsen as we age. Dermal filler can be added to restore volume and smooth out these lines and wrinkles.

CHEEKS

As we age, we lose structure in the cheek area which becomes flat. Dermal filler can be added to not only restore volume to the cheek area, but it can also indirectly improve the appearance of tear troughs, nasolabial lines and jowls by 'lifting' the midface. In younger clients, it can also provide that beautiful contoured/defined cheekbone.
Where can you treat?
CHIN

This is a popular treatment used to help enhance a weak chin, or to smooth out irregularities such as dimpling. Dermal filler can be added to reshape the chin to provide better projection, sculpt the jawline, soften jowls and improve general proportions of the lower face.

JAW

This is a great way to bring definition to a naturally weak jaw, or in older patients to disguise the appearance of jowls. Dermal filler can be added to help contour the jawline and enhance the side profile, chin and jaw area.
Lip Filler
Lip fillers are unsurprisingly one of the most popular aesthetics treatments. Volume loss occurs in the lip as we age and some people also have naturally thin/shapeless lips which they want to improve. Dermal filler can be added to the lip through a variety of different techniques in order to hydrate the lips, restore volume and improve the shape.
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
Non-surgical rhinoplasty offers a fantastic alternative to patients who want an improvement to the appearance of their nose, without undergoing expensive and risky surgery. It involves placing tiny amounts of filler into specific points on the nose to help smooth out bumps and lift the tip, creating a softer profile and the appearance of a smaller nose.
Tear Troughs
Tear troughs are the 'hollows' that can form between the under eye and upper cheek. It can cast a shadow below your eyes, resulting in a tired/aged appearance. Dermal filler can be delicately placed in this area to rejuvenated it, resulting in a brighter, more youthful look.
