NHS dental fees are set by the Scottish Government so will be the same in every dental practice in Scotland. However, the NHS fee structure is complex and will vary considerably between patients depending on the exact treatment required. Six monthly check ups are free on the NHS and you will always be provided with an estimate cost for your NHS treatment plan BEFORE we start any treatment.
You are entitled to free NHS treatment if you:
are under 18 years old
are 18 years old and in full time education
are pregnant or had a baby within the last 12 months
receive certain benefits such as Income Support, Jobseeker's Allowance, Employment & Support Allowance, Universal Credit, Pension Credit and Tax Credit*
* Please bring proof/copy of exemption certificate if you do fall into one of these categories.
Further information can be found at https://www.scottishdental.org/public/treatment-charges/
NHS treatment options are limited to those that are clinically necessary to achieve and maintain good oral health. Other treatments such as teeth whitening and white fillings/crowns on back teeth are not available on the NHS, but can be done privately.
Any private treatment > £300 can be paid using interest-free finance over 6, 10 or 12 months. There is further information on our Membership Plan page. Please see some of our private fees below:
